Personer med koppling till Rysslands specialtjänster har gripits för mordbrand vid Ikea-butiken i Vilnius.
Den 8 maj 2024 kl. 4:00 var två personer under 20 år ansvariga för branden i Ikea-butiken i Vilnius. Båda gärningspersonerna identifierades som ukrainska medborgare, och hjärnorna bakom terrorattacken är kopplade till Ryssland genom en rad mellanhänder. Gruppen samordnades via sociala medier och använde klassificerade meddelanden. Personerna tillhörde samma grupp som var ansvarig för en brand i Polen, och därför inledde Litauen en gemensam utredning med polska motsvarigheter. Tydligen hade de två personerna kommit till Litauen flera gånger innan de begick brotten och rekognoscerade butiken. Som belöning utlovades de en BMW 530 och 10 000 euro.

On May 8 2024, at 4:00 am, two individuals under the age of 20 were responsible for the fire at Vilnius Ikea store. Both perpetrators were identified as Ukrainian citizens and that the masterminds of the terrorist attack are linked to Russia through series of intermediaries. The group was coordinated through social media and used classified messages. The individuals belonged to the same group that was responsible for fire in Poland, thus Lithuania began co-investigation with Polish counterparts. Appartently, the two individuals had come to Lithuania several times before committing the crimes and were scouting the store. As a reward, they were promised BMW 530 and 10,000 euros.
