Suspected drone sightings force three-hour closure of Oslo Gardermoen Airport.

On the evening of 22 September 2025, Norwegian authorities received reports of possible drone activity near Oslo Airport Gardermoen, on the same night that unidentified drones caused a major shutdown at Copenhagen Airport. The first Gardermoen observation was reported to police at approximately 22:30, after which Avinor initially concentrated aircraft operations on one runway while police attempted to locate the object and its operator. A second reported observation subsequently prompted authorities to close the airport’s airspace completely at approximately 00:30 on 23 September. The closure lasted around three hours, until shortly after 03:30, and affected 12 flights, with arriving aircraft diverted to other Norwegian airports. PST and the Norwegian Armed Forces were informed, although the Armed Forces stated that there was no indication of activity specifically directed against the military section of Gardermoen.
