Incendiary attack targets area beside Rohde & Schwarz and Helsing defence companies in Munich.
Around midnight on 3 September 2026, several incendiary devices were thrown from a moving vehicle onto a construction site in Munich’s Berg am Laim district, immediately adjacent to a complex containing defence-sector companies including Rohde & Schwarz and Helsing. One device ignited near construction containers and produced a small fire that responding police officers quickly extinguished; another incendiary device failed to ignite and was subsequently rendered safe by specialists from the Bavarian State Criminal Police Office. No injuries were reported and material damage remained limited. Police arrested a 28-year-old woman and a 38-year-old man, both Bulgarian nationals, at a nearby petrol station on Innsbrucker Ring shortly after the attack. The Bavarian LKA said that because several defence companies were located around the affected site, investigators were examining a possible politically motivated attack and did not assume that Rohde & Schwarz was necessarily the sole intended target. Rohde & Schwarz confirmed that its own company premises were not directly damaged.
