Slovak authorities foil an arson attack against a Ukrainian military-drone production facility.

On 25 August, Slovak police announced that they had prevented an arson attack against a drone-production facility in eastern Slovakia. Three foreign nationals were arrested, with two detained in Slovakia and another arrested in Germany under a European arrest warrant. Investigators seized a large quantity of incendiary material, tools and mobile phones. Police stated that the suspects had acted on commission, indicating that the planned attack was not simply spontaneous vandalism. The intended target was subsequently reported by Slovak media as the Ukrainian-owned Skyeton drone factory, which produces military and surveillance UAVs. The company produces systems used by Ukrainian forces, making the facility part of Europe’s defence-industrial supply chain. Skyeton representatives indicated that they suspected Russian involvement. Slovak authorities have not publicly made a definitive state attribution, so this should be entered as suspected Russian-linked sabotage, rather than confirmed Russian sabotage. The planned attack could have caused several million euros in damage and endangered approximately 70 employees.
