Russia-linked cybergroup targeted heating plant in Sweden.
The Minister for Civil Defense of Sweden, Carl-Oskar Bohlin, announced for the first time that, in early 2025, a destructive cyberattack on one of the heating plants in western Sweden was carried out by a group linked to Russia’s intelligence and secret service. While the attack failed, it was directed at the critical infrastructure with potential serious consequences for society. So far, the name of the plant was not announced.
