Poland says Russian cruise missile violated its airspace during attack on Ukraine.
Poland’s armed forces reported that a Russian-launched cruise missile crossing the border into Ukraine had entered Polish airspace for approximately 39 seconds before re-entering Ukrainian territory. Radar systems detected the trajectory near Oserdów, triggering Poland to activate its air-defence posture and consult with NATO allies. Although no damage or casualties were reported on Polish soil, officials described the breach as a “serious violation” of Poland’s airspace and sovereignty, emphasising the incident as a spill-over effect of Russia’s war-with-Ukraine. Poland summoned the Russian ambassador and issued a diplomatic protest, revealing that hybrid warfare can include supra-kinetic tactics (missile flight paths) that blur the lines between war zones and allied states.
