Drone sightings disrupt Aalborg Airport and its shared military airfield.
Drone sightings near Aalborg Airport began shortly before 22:00 on 24 September and continued until shortly before 01:00 on 25 September. Flights were halted for several hours at the airport, which accommodates both civilian traffic and military aviation. The observations therefore concerned a shared facility rather than two independently documented incidents at separate civilian and military sites. Police reported that efforts to bring down the drones had been unsuccessful and that their operators had not been apprehended. The disruption occurred alongside reports from other Danish airfields, prompting Defence Minister Troels Lund Poulsen to describe the wider series as a systematic operation involving a professional actor. Authorities nevertheless stated that there was no immediate danger to the public. The reporting did not establish who controlled the drones or demonstrate that the Aalborg activity was directed by Russia. The airport subsequently reopened, before a separate suspected sighting triggered another closure the following night.
