GPS disruption prevents Savonlinna-bound flights and interrupts services in eastern Finland.
According to Transaviabaltika’s representative, an aircraft travelling from Tallinn to Savonlinna on Sunday evening, 6 March, lost GPS reception around Kouvola and turned back. Reception recovered in the Helsinki area. A subsequent attempt using another aircraft encountered the same problem. Savonlinna lacked alternative navigation equipment needed to maintain the affected operations, and Helsinki–Savonlinna services were suspended. By 9 March, the airline reported 18 cancellations between the two cities. These cancellations are consequences of the disruption, not 18 independently verified interference incidents. The broader eastern Finland reports should not be added as another entry without evidence distinguishing them from this episode.
