After Finland’s prime minister called for more pressure on Russia, the Russian cybercrime network NoName057(16) hacked a number of Finnish organizations. Called “OpFinland”, the operation targeted political parties and candidates, the Ministry of Interior, the central bank, multiple cities and airports, and several private sector entities. In the summer of 2025, Europol launched an operation to disrupt NoName057. Finnish authorities blamed Russian cybercrime network NoName057(16) for attempting to interfere in Finnish elections.
