On the New Year’s Eve, Finland experienced significant jamming attack. Experts in the United States and Poland point to Russia as the source of the interference, since similar attacks were present in the Baltic region, affecting other countries as well. Some transmitters spread across a wide area were simply jamming the GPS while others were spoofing the aircrafts, leading to planes not knowing where they are. Spoofing has been frequently observed with ships, but this time it was first reported in Aviation.
