Russian helicopter violates Estonian airspace.
On 18 June 2022, a Russian military helicopter entered Estonian sovereign airspace near the Koidula border checkpoint in southeastern Estonia. Estonia says the helicopter entered without permission and remained in Estonian airspace for approximately two minutes. Three days later, Estonia summoned the Russian ambassador and delivered a formal diplomatic protest. The Estonian Foreign Ministry characterised the incident as an “extremely serious” violation of Estonian airspace.
