Russische AN-72 begeleid in internationaal luchtruim op de route van continentaal Rusland naar Kaliningrad.
Op 11 juni identificeerden en begeleidden vliegtuigen die deelnamen aan de NAVO Air Policing Mission een Russisch AN-72-transportvliegtuig dat van continentaal Rusland naar Kaliningrad vloog door internationaal luchtruim. De transponder van het toestel stond aan, maar de bemanning had geen vluchtplan ingediend. Niettemin onderhield de bemanning gedurende de hele vlucht radiocommunicatie met het regionale luchtverkeersleidingscentrum.

On June 11, aircraft participating in the NATO Air Policing Mission identified and escorted a Russian AN-72 transport aircraft flying from mainland Russia to Kaliningrad through international airspace. The aircraft’s transponder was switched on, but the crew had not filed a flight plan. Nevertheless, the crew maintained radio communication with the regional air traffic control centre throughout the flight.
