Mēģinājums bija līdzīgs kiberuzbrukumam ūdens attīrīšanas iekārtai Muleshoe, Teksasā, kurā grupējumam izdevās pārpludināt ūdens tvertni. Abernathy incidentā pakalpojuma darbības traucējumu nebija.

Hackers with the Cyber Army of Russia Reborn attempted to hack a water facility in Abernathy, Texas, and overflow the water tank. The attempt was similar to the cyberattack on the water treatment plant in Muleshoe, Texas, in which the group succeeded in overflowing the water tank. In the Abernathy incident, there was no disruption to service.
