Sprogstamasis jūrinis dronas sunaikintas netoli Rumunijos Neptun Deep dujų projekto.

Rugpjūčio 20 d. Rumunijos institucijos aptiko bepiločio jūrinio drono objektą vos už kelių šimtų metrų nuo Juodojoje jūroje esančio jūrinio dujų projekto Neptun Deep. Reaguoti į objektą buvo pakelti Rumunijos F-16 lėktuvai. Vėliau dronas buvo sunaikintas, o sunaikinimo operaciją užbaigė Rumunijos karinio jūrų laivyno laivas. Gynybos ministras Radu Miruță pareiškė, kad įrenginyje buvo sprogmenų. Platforma yra strategiškai svarbi, nes Neptun Deep yra vienas iš didelių būsimų Rumunijos gamtinių dujų gavybos projektų ir svarbi Europos energetinio saugumo dalis. Rumunijos institucijos teigė, kad laivas nebuvo ukrainietiškos kilmės. Prezidentas Nicușor Dan vėliau dėl incidento apkaltino Rusiją. Todėl incidentas reiškia įtariamą su Rusija siejamą jūrinę grėsmę kritinei energetikos infrastruktūrai, priklausančiai NATO narei.

Explosive marine drone destroyed near Romania’s Neptun Deep gas project.

On 20 August, Romanian authorities detected an unmanned marine drone only a few hundred metres from the Neptun Deep offshore gas project in the Black Sea. Romanian F-16 aircraft were scrambled to respond to the object. The drone was subsequently destroyed, with a Romanian Navy vessel completing the destruction operation. Defence Minister Radu Miruță stated that the device contained explosives. The platform is strategically important because Neptun Deep is one of Romania’s major future natural-gas production projects and an important component of European energy security. Romanian authorities said the vessel was not of Ukrainian origin. President Nicușor Dan subsequently blamed Russia for the incident. The incident therefore represents a suspected Russian-linked maritime threat against critical energy infrastructure belonging to a NATO member.
