Des images satellite montrent dix grandes casernes en construction dans une garnison entièrement nouvelle à Novaya Vilga, près de Petrozavodsk.

Le 10 juin 2026, Yle a publié la localisation d'une nouvelle garnison militaire en construction à Novaya Vilga, à côté de Petrozavodsk. Selon l'analyse d'images de Yle, le défrichement forestier a été visible pour la première fois en novembre 2025, les terrassements se sont poursuivis tout au long de l'hiver 2025-2026 et la construction des casernes a commencé au printemps 2026. Une image du 1er juin 2026 montrait environ dix grands bâtiments en construction. Yle a estimé les casernes à environ 65 × 24 mètres avec trois à quatre étages, et a identifié des plans pour un bâtiment administratif/d'état-major, une place d'armes, des bâtiments résidentiels et des installations sportives ; plus de 50 structures sont prévues au total. Un contrat municipal russe d'eau et d'assainissement de février 2026 (environ 5,9 millions d'euros) a également été lié au site.

    On 10 June 2026, Yle published the location of a new military garrison under construction at Novaya Vilga, next to Petrozavodsk. According to Yle’s imagery analysis, forest clearing was first visible in November 2025, earthworks continued through the winter of 2025–2026, and construction of barracks began in spring 2026. An image of 1 June 2026 showed around ten large buildings under construction. Yle estimated the barracks at about 65 × 24 metres with three to four storeys, and identified plans for an administrative/headquarters building, a parade ground, residential buildings and sports facilities; more than 50 structures are planned in total. A Russian municipal water and sewage contract from February 2026 (c. €5.9 million) was also linked to the site.
