En una imagen satelital fechada el 25 de junio de 2026, AviVector informó que la construcción de tres hangares de aeronaves había comenzado en junio de 2026 en la parte noreste del aeropuerto de Petrozavodsk, separada de los seis refugios reforzados iniciados en la parte suroeste del campo de aviación en abril de 2026. Militarnyi informó del hallazgo el 28 de junio de 2026. In a satellite image dated 25 June 2026, AviVector reported that construction of three aircraft hangars had begun in June 2026 in the north-eastern part of Petrozavodsk airport, separate from the six hardened shelters started in the south-western part of the airfield in April 2026. Militarnyi reported the finding on 28 June 2026. Taken together with the April construction, this means that at least nine new aircraft shelters or hangars were under construction at the airfield by mid-2026, in parallel with the expansion of ground-force garrisons in the Petrozavodsk area.
