Second suspected drone sighting causes another suspension of flights at Berlin Brandenburg Airport.
At approximately 21:00 on 11 March 2026, an airport security employee reported another suspected flying object in the outdoor area of Berlin Brandenburg Airport. The observation occurred roughly two hours after an earlier suspected drone sighting near a Bundeswehr helicopter hangar had caused a temporary suspension of flight operations. Following the second report, airport authorities again halted arrivals and departures to conduct precautionary security checks. German Federal Police searched the relevant area but were unable to locate or verify any unmanned aircraft or other object. Flight operations resumed at approximately 21:30. Airport officials described both interruptions as standard aviation safety precautions intended to prevent possible collisions with aircraft. No damage or confirmed hostile activity was reported. The identity, nature and origin of the suspected object remained unknown, and there was no evidence connecting the event to Russian operations.
