View this signal on the map

In mid-August 2026, Bulgarian Navy specialists inspected an unmanned aerial vehicle discovered washed ashore on a beach at Primorsko, on the country’s southern Black Sea coast. Military personnel identified the aircraft as a reconnaissance drone without a military payload and transported it to Naval Base Burgas for examination. On 14 August, Defence Minister Dimitar Stoyanov stated that, in his assessment, the aircraft had probably been used by Russian forces and subsequently carried into Bulgarian waters by sea currents. The discovery occurred alongside other reports of drones and missile-related debris reaching Bulgaria’s coastline. However, authorities did not establish the aircraft’s launch location, flight route, operational purpose or date of entry into the sea.
