Pharma Firm Inotiv Confirms Data Breach Affecting 9,500+ After Ransomware Attack by Russian Hack-Group Activists Qilin
From August 5 to 8, a pharmaceutical company Inotiv experienced a ransomware attack resulting in more than 9,500 individuals’ data stolen. The attackers gained an unauthorized access to Inotiv’s systems and encrypted certain networks and data. The stolen data includes names, addresses, social security numbers, financial and medical information that belongs to current and former employees, their family members and other individuals who have interacted with the firm. The data was posted on Qilin’s dark web leak site, data size is 176 gigabytes (around 162,000 files). The listing has been removed after the incident though it is unclear if its because the ransom was paid.
