Russian drone violates Moldovan airspace during Russian attack on Ukraine.
On 26 August, Moldova’s Defence Ministry reported that a drone entered Moldovan airspace during a Russian attack on Ukraine. Moldovan authorities treated the event as an airspace-security incident associated with Russia’s ongoing drone strikes against Ukraine. The UAV subsequently left Moldovan airspace. The incident is geographically significant because Moldova borders both Ukraine and NATO member Romania. It demonstrates the continuing spillover of Russian aerial operations into European airspace.
