Unidentified drones reported over RAF Fairford during extension of UK military-base drone campaign.

View this signal on the map

By 26 November 2024, USAFE confirmed that unidentified UAV activity had expanded to RAF Fairford in Gloucestershire, geographically separated from the three East Anglia bases. Fairford was hosting US military aircraft and is an important strategic airfield used for bomber deployments. Contemporary authorities did not publicly identify the drones’ origin, operator or purpose, and no damage to the installation was reported. IISS later assessed the Fairford and East Anglia incidents within the same wider Russian UAV campaign and considered maritime launch/recovery by Russian-linked commercial or shadow-fleet vessels likely. Because the exact first Fairford sighting date is less clearly documented than for Lakenheath, Mildenhall and Feltwell, 25–26 November should remain approximate rather than being backdated to 20 November without evidence.
