Unidentified drone recovered north of Shabla Lighthouse, Bulgaria.
On 28 August 2026, Bulgarian authorities received a report of an unidentified drone approximately one kilometre north of Shabla Lighthouse on the country’s northeastern Black Sea coast. A specialised team from Varna Naval Base inspected the aircraft and determined that it was safe to handle. The drone was subsequently transported to the naval base for further examination. No explosives-related threat was reported during the recovery, and Bulgarian authorities did not establish its model, operator, origin or original flight route.
