Around 10 September 2026, Russia’s Baltic Fleet conducted a coordinated series of combat-training activities at its maritime ranges in the Baltic Sea and around the Khmelevka training ground in Kaliningrad Oblast. Two Project 12322 Zubr-class air-cushion landing ships, Yevgeny Kocheshkov and Mordovia, conducted live artillery firing with 30-mm AK-630 systems against simulated aerial targets and mock unmanned surface vessels; Russian reporting claimed that all designated targets were hit. Their crews also practised loading personnel and military equipment directly from the shoreline, transporting them by sea and conducting an amphibious landing on an unequipped coast. Baltic Fleet marine infantry and self-propelled artillery participated in the landing phase, with the troops practising penetration of a simulated enemy’s anti-landing defences.
