Tentato attacco incendiario contro l'infrastruttura ferroviaria TGV Sud-Est sventato vicino a Vergigny, Francia

Nella mattina presto del 26 luglio 2024, individui non identificati hanno tentato di sabotare l'infrastruttura ferroviaria vicino a Vergigny, nel dipartimento francese dello Yonne. Il sito faceva parte della rete LGV Sud-Est che collega Parigi con Lione e il sud-est della Francia. Operai di manutenzione della SNCF hanno scoperto attività sospette vicino ai binari e hanno interrotto gli autori, che sono fuggiti a bordo di un veicolo prima di completare l'attacco. Gli investigatori hanno trovato materiali incendiari sul posto, indicando preparativi per danneggiare l'infrastruttura di segnalamento ferroviario. A differenza degli attacchi a Croisilles, Courtalain e Vandières, il tentato sabotaggio non ha causato una grave interruzione del servizio sulla ferrovia ad alta velocità sud-orientale.     During the early morning of 26 July 2024, unidentified individuals attempted to sabotage railway infrastructure near Vergigny in the Yonne department of France. The location formed part of the LGV Sud-Est network connecting Paris with Lyon and southeastern France. SNCF maintenance workers discovered suspicious activity near the tracks and interrupted the perpetrators, who fled in a vehicle before completing the attack. Investigators found incendiary materials at the location, indicating preparations to damage railway signalling infrastructure. Unlike the attacks at Croisilles, Courtalain and Vandières, the attempted sabotage did not cause a major service interruption on the southeastern high-speed railway.
