Satellite images showed three large halls going up at the Alakurtti garrison on 9 July, 28 July and 11 August 2023, each apparently built within about a day on foundations that had stood unused since at least 2017. Each hall measures about 100 × 25 m and could shelter the vehicles of roughly one battalion of the 80th Arctic Motor Rifle Brigade.
