The observations occurred between 02:00 and 04:00 local time, with the pilots indicating that the object might have been a drone. Airport authorities, German air traffic control and the airport’s border police launched an immediate search, including the deployment of a police helicopter. Flight operations were temporarily restricted, causing delays to six services, while two incoming aircraft were diverted to Cologne and Prague before continuing to Nuremberg. Despite the investigation, police could not locate or verify the suspected drone.
